“When I was a freshman, I went to the career fair just to check it out and I just instantly felt drawn to P&G. When I was a sophomore, I gave them my resume and talked with someone there, but thought that I never heard back… a few months later I found the email in my spam folder. Everything happens for a reason and I ended up landing a great internship with a small company called Irving Consumer Products. They manufactured a lot of the Private Label(Walmart Brand, Target Brand, etc.) toilet paper and paper towels in North America. I was a Logistics Engineer in the plant and mostly focused on raw material supplies as well an transportation logistics. I LOVED this internship and this is where I knew I wanted to work on everyday products that touched billions of consumers. My junior year, I applied again for Procter and Gamble, both in person at the career fair(they only recruit for their Mehoopany Plant there) and also online for an internship in IT: Data and Analytics. I got interviews with both roles, but had to chose one per P&G’s protocol. Since I had already had experience in the plants, I took a leap of faith and decided to purse the IT role. I ended up getting it and moving to Cincinnati that summer to be one of 30 IT interns. I had the MOST amazing summer and did analysis for some of P&G’s top customers (Walmart, Target, etc.). I received an offer on my last day, and while I looked at a few other employers, I knew that I wanted to accept. During my internship with P&G, I was taking 12 credits online so that I could graduate early and save some money. I graduated December of 2016 and started in P&G in February of 2017. I was placed as the Business Analyst for North American Fem as the only analyst working on Always, Tampax, and Always Discreet in all of the US, Canada, and PR. It is a huge and humbling role, but it is one that you can truly impact so many women across their lifetime.”
